Avanti stand and deliver 14.5
Hiya , newbie here!
In the angling times yesterday they have a deal on a 14.5 metre pole from avanti, with a RRP of £1000 there selling it for £300.
I am in the process of searching for a new pole as i am getting more into fishing and i was wondering if anyone knows how good it is?
Cheers

It certainly wont be worth anymore than the £300 its being advertised at. Avanti is a longway from being a leading brand and does not feature in any tackle shops that I know of, theres you first problem spares either as additional top kits or other sections may not be that cheap or even available, I would look at some of the major companies budget range of poles, but as with any pole you intend to purchase try and find a dealer with the facility to have it put up to its fiull length to see if it suits you

Brian is spot on! Avanti always quote a RRP, but it does not exist! They are sold by the importer, its a closed shop.
If you want to spend £300, look at Daiwa, Maver, Shimano, Shakespeare, Garbolino BUT NOT Avanti.
More bad news I guess, sorry....Mark

I saw the review seems an ok buy.
The Avanti poles are sold by Used Tackle. They also sell tackle by dragon carp, Pantera and some other budget gear. I got a set of nets from them a couple of months ago and am very happy with them. The delivery service was very good sent payment in the post on a Monday got the nets on the wed. As far as i know they do have a couple of tackle shops, where you can view the gear. Have a look on the website. dragon carp direct
They have 4 Shops 2 near nottingham and 2 near skegnes. They also do tackle roadshows. Hope it is of some help.

Its about time people stop slagging low cost tackle off because firstly most of it is made in the same factory (EXAMPLE)avanti stand and deliver box is made in the same factory as maver and daiwa boxes EG DAIWA 100,200 and the new 360 Also maver 1000,3000 and the list goes on !!!!!! all these boxes are made by the same people and by the same things you could take the seat of of a top brand box and fit it onto the avanti box BECAUSE THEY ARE THE SAME BUT WITH A DIFFERANT NAME ON THEM. Also the avanti ridgback holdall is the same as the daiwa connoisseur holdall but with avantis name on it.THE LIST REALLY DOES GO ON!!!!!!!!!!!
Now to the pole go for it mate its bang on ive already got one its made on the same mandrell as a maver pole thats where the rrp comes from its light stiff and what a spares package you just need to read the angling times to see what they have said. You dont need good named tackle to be a good angler its time people started realizing this ive won many matches all over and top my local club legue summer and winter GUESS WHAT ALL MY TACKLE IS AVANTI BECAUSE ITS THE SAME STUFF BUT WITH A BETTER PRICE AND DIFFERANT NAME even my sponsor will tell you this (avanti used tackle).Go for it mate you cant go wrong dont listen to these guys they need to get there facts rite before they ramble on sorry guys but someone needs to get the truth out there you carry on spending loadz of hard earned cash on just a name to make yourself look good what a waste .[/size]

I am sorry Mr Avanti, but all you have said its made in the same factory off the same mandrel, well that applies to many poles that are not top of the range from leading brands, the difference is in the grades of materials used. Now if you are that confident in the Avanti range of gear arrange for them to send Talk Angling products for testing, I am sure you would get some honest opinions, and no I do not own top of the range gear nor am I sponsored by anyone I just tell it as I see it.

Write your comments about the pole, why you think it's a good pole for the money, the weight and strength and the good things you think may benefit anglers by buying this pole, this site welcomes other people's comments, who know's you may get some converts to Avanti.

Some valid points there mate, but saying a pole has an rrp of 1000 because its built on the same mandrel as a maver pole is ridiculous. Can we have information on the grade and weighting of the carbon fibre used? Any graphite impregnation, cross weaving? Any lithium strengthening processes? Waht resin is used, and in what ratio?
I could wrap papier mache around the same mandrel as an Airity. Would you give me 3 grand for it?
