Default What is required to start match fishing?

    Hi All,

I know the question is a little odd as I suppose anyone can technically enter a match and fish, but what would you require to start? Can anyone match fish i.e Pay your fee, fish and loose ... or win

I ask as I would be interested in looking into it this year as it sounds quite fun.

Help and suggestions would be appreciated

Best way is ask at your local tackle shop for a club and start fishing with them you will learn a lot from the other anglers. You could find a local venue that holds open matches and pay entrance fee and fish hope this helps

Could be a very steep learning curve jumping straight in to open matches, joining a local club probably the way to go.

    good luck

    Thumbs up

try finding a local club because till you get used to fishing matches because if you fish opens straight away you will be up against people who know the water inside out and a little
practice on any venue is better first

Ah ok, good advice. Does anyone know of any clubs in Grantham, Lincs? I don't really know where to start looking here as we don't have a local tackle shop anymore.
