i had drawn a nice peg with a big tree behind it which made casting a method feeder a little tricky but i soon found a way had loads of phatom bites to start with where you get a indication you strike (doesn't matter how i tried many veriations)you feel it on the line then it vapourises into thin air,so i adjusted my rig untill i caught a couple (i was begining to think nigel had issued all the fish with gum shield as i was struggling to get a hookhold and i know my hooks where sharp as i've a thumb like a teabag where i kept testing them,i was expecting bad weather but all we got was a bit of drizzle and a cooling breaze (LOL) the food and company was again great got to put a few names to faces well had no choice really as i was taking names of all the entrants LOL,and i still carn't remember a single one my short term memory must be getting better though as i only had to ask myself for my name twice !LOl.and a big thanks to nigel for another great organised event and for taking great care of us and not forgetting the chips!.

Nice to meet up and put some faces to names, shame it was a tad breezy and my method feeders were way toooooo light, often ending up in the next peg. It was the wind honest and not my creative casting..what a pity Brian we didn't have the top end pegs put in , the weather up there was a different place all together. That long walk back to the clubhouse was worth it for the hospitality..see you on the next one.

I drew well for a change but fished crap, against my and many others better judgement,I fished the pole.
In what can only be described as VERRRRRRRRRRY WINNNNNNNNDY conditions.
I was determined NOT to fish the method as I was not geared up to do so (Big mistake).
I had 6lb ish of silvers/skimmers on the pole, I did chuck the ground bait feeder a couple of times though, which resulted in 2 skimmers.
Well done to the framers and a very special Well Done to Mart (Liquidized) who had a Brilliant 37lb of skimmers on the pole, If only he'd found them earlier a frame, instead of a section win would of been his reward.
Thanks to Nigel/Chavender/WCA and BrianG for the organization of it.
Look forward to next years match, with a liitle less wind hopefully
John

Wind? what wind?
Did I cross your line Brian?
It was a nightmare trying to cast straight, so I didn't

No problems Ron I put more casts into PeterP swim than I did on my own a slightly heavier feeder was called for, my first cast was possibly one of a few that went straight.

Brian,
Any idea of the top weights? I would have thought that with the overcast mild weather (even with the breeze) that the right hand bank should have thrown up some 70-80lb weights on the method, especially those pegs close to the island.

Breeze? it was a gale mate water was lapping up and over the slabs, but you are right 77lb won it off one of the flier pegs just before the island, I think the top three weights are on the match results page. I have not seen a full list of weights but it went down to possibly single figures at best very low doubles but a good few in the twentys which was Andy222 winning weight in the first year, so given the conditions of both the wind and the recent heavy rains that must have put some cold water in it did not fish too bad.
