MALC. Anxious not to spoil a days match fishing by offending Rolf. How can you retain your silver fish in a 3rd net and return them immediately? Like Brian I seem to attract Silver fish!!

Malc, when you get carp over 8 lb does rolf run around with the scales or do you take the carp to the scales even if they are on the other side of the lake, also do you have to keep the record yourself or does rolf keep it for you.

By the way i can't wait to fish rolfs and also to put faces to names, i'm like a kid at christmas.

There are scales set up every few pegs and you weigh them yourself and get a neighbour to witness the weight, it's a great set up. there wilbe sheets of paper at the scales to record your weight on so you dont have to remember and try to add them up in your head

John,

If you want the silvers to count as part of your weight then a 3rd net is a must. Any proper fish can be weighed and added to the sheet and returned to the water but for small roach, gudgeon, perch etc you can keep them for 5 hours and weigh them in at the end.

You will need 2 other nets for carp under 8lb and believe me they could be used.

Thanks Keith. Methinks the silver net will be the best utilised!!

John,

Just re-read my reply and it does read wrong ref the silvers dont it.

As for being off at guessing the weights all you need do is stick the first carp you catch on the scales and see how the fish weigh and that'll give you a good idea for the rest.

I'll have a couple of spare nets with me on the day (Gem wont need her's either)
