Well we got there at about 11am, first thing was a brekkie

. And I must say that was the best brekkie I have had in a long while, 10 out of 10 for Cudmore so far

( I was going to take a pic of the brekkies but by the time I'd got me phone out Scatty had finished his

)
Then to part with the readies

, 2 bags of crushed pellet, 1 bag of micros and a day ticket - £15.70

(don't know how he worked that one out

). Then off to find the lake, we picked a nice short walk from the carpark, with Scatty having the shortest walk due to the length, or should I say lack of length of his legs
Last night in the club we were told that the carp come really close in, in about 9 - 12 inches of water

, so 1 rig was set up for there and one for 6 metres, which was about 3ft deep, then the inevitable blob rig just incase they came up in the water.
Once my 3 rigs were done I went for a walk down to the dwarf who was 2 pegs away (so that I couldn't here him moaning when I battered him

), no, not really, we just didnt want to sit too close when we had all the lake to ourselves
He wasn't ready, he was still trying to plumb up (maybe he should have asked badboybagger for help with it

When I looked closer at his bait I noticed that there were obvious scoop marks in hes pellet tub

, I asked him if he had already fed but he denied it

, here is the evidence ;-

Get out of that one Scatty
Anyway, I gave him 5 minutes to get ready and then we started fishing, by this time it was 12.30. It was windy but dry, but I had my brolly handy for when it rained, coz you just know its going to don't you

, tight arse Scatty aint got a brolly (says he can't be bothered with em

)
I fed 1 big pot of micros either side against the stick-ups and 2 at 6 metres and started off on the 6m line with a soft pellet on the hook. Five minutes later the float buried and I was into my 1st fish of the day, a bleeding barbel

, the only fish you cant put in nets when pleasuring, but all the same, first blood to me
Back out with another soft pellet, within minutes I was in again

, this time with a hard fighting carp, yisssssssssssss, they are here

, it was about 2lb even though it doesnt look it in my large landing net

At this time things were looking good, Scatty still hadn't had a fish
Then, I struck at a bite and the water errupted, there must have been 20 carp just under the surface, darting off in all directions, yes I thought, they are up in the water, I'll empty it now

. So out with the blob and a banded pellet, 12inch deep. I fired a few micros at the end of my pole and the fish were swirling for em as they hit the water, two liners later I shallowed up to 6 inch, nothing

. Soft pellet on the hook, nothing

, corn on the hook, still nothing !!!!! By this time I am getting really frustrated, the fish were swirling all around my swim but I couldn't get a bite

So I sacked it
Then Scatty got his first fish of the day

How scarey is that face

, it took him longer to get hold of it than it did to land it
I decided to try my inside line, dropped in with a soft pellet and got a tench straight away, 2nd drop in and a 2oz skimmer

, and that was the end of that swim for a while, then I tried the dreaded paste, (me and paste don't get on), first drop in and the laccy shot out, a fine mirror about 5lb. Once again I thought I was about to bag up (when will I learn

), not another proper bite on that line, loads of liners and twitches but nothing hittable

.
By this time Scatty was getting them pretty regular and it became obvious that the worst was going to happen, Scatty was going to beat me
Then it rained
But still he caught
I plumbed up at 5 metres and put a small pot of micros in and fished paste over the top, this resulted in some flying skimmers

, carp upto about 9lb, a 2lb tench and then stupid silly bites with nowt there

. i put a pellet on, nothing

, then I opened a tin of corn and tried a piece, a good size skimmer straight away, next double corn, a good carp, then nothing
Even the local wild life came to laugh at me

the white speck on the opposite bank is a heron
And then it rained

and I laughed out loud as the dwarf sat there without a brolly, the rain running down his face
Anyway, swapping and changing between corn and paste, and heavy feed and no feed at all I managed a few more fish and Scatty said it was home time at 6.30
This is what he looks like when he's beat somebody

And these were his fish

Not as big as mine but he had a few more than me
This was Scatty's attempt at taking a pic of my fish
