OK, it looks like there is a little bit of interest so here is the detail -

The Waterways Ireland fishing festival is a one week festival held on the river Erne and Loughs around Enniskillen.

The festival fishing is three days, normally Monday, Wednesday, Friday - total weight, winner gets £5000 + super pool. There are genrally about 15 sections of 20 anglers dependant on entry, they pay sections of 5 - £50 each day to keep anglers on their pegs. Plus daily overall of £500, £350, £250, £150 but also some very nice trophys.

We usually travel out on the Friday before which next year will be the 25th of April. The festival starts on Monday 28th April. On the non festival days there are open matches or pleasure fishing.

Match entry last year was £75 for pools.

We normally try and get the night boat from Liverpool and have a few beers and then you arrive nice and early on the Saturday morning, go to the tackle shop and check into the accomodation. We normally stay at the Killyhevlin Hotel and Chalets and hire a chalet - they can sleep up to six but 4 is ideal. They are located only about a quarter of a mile out of the town and £2.50 in a taxi. Taxi's run all night so there is no problem getting back from the pub.

There is also a 4 man team event across the festival and some good prizes for this, if you need extra anglers to make a four man team there are always people looking.

Having fished the festival we normally travel back on the Saturday and get back lunchtime Sunday.

Don't know, depends on how much you drink! Also depends on where you stay weather you want to do it on the cheap or not...

A couple of the guys who came with me last year paid £350 for travel and accomodation.
