not quite sure how it will work? I assume 2 names will be drawn out of the hat as the 1st match and so on being drawn on the next peg to whom you are fishing against. with a Odd/Even numbers being decided by the team captains before hand,
From fishing the Y/F match pegs 3,4,5,6,did cross each other at about 15 M if my memory serves me right so I would leave 5 and 6 out peg 13 is not as bad as it looks on the mapbut would be better out,peg 18,is very restricted so that would have to go,peg 27 is not as bad as it may appear, but would be better out.So thats pegs,5,6,13,18,27.I would leave out.then go with.
1-2
3-4
7-8
9-10
11-12
14-15
16-17
19-20
21-22
23-24
25-26 pegs 9 and 12 would appear to be flyers but each side would have 1 each.
anyway thats my two,pennyworth

For information only.
14,15,16,17,18 are the form pegs at the moment all producing double figures (mainly waggler) on Sunday, with 18 winning with 44lb, but that was with 12 left out, giving 14,15 room and 19,20 giving 18 room. All people with open water in front of them caught well. Most struggled on the pole for bites.
Seems when over 18 fishing, it starts getting awkward.

That was my first train of thought, the only problem I saw with it was as you say, the top form pegs would be paired up against pegs from the less favoured side, where as if you are side by side you should have roughly the same amount of fish in front of you as well as the conditions affecting each pair roughly the same ie. strong wind in your face.I think you are spot on about the numbers,it could spook the fish for a while if every peg has someone in it.

That more or less sums it tbh. Whatever you leave out and however you peg it with 22 fishing will end up with conflicting/restrictive pegs.
After fishing it yesterday it was quite clear that the big weights are Carp and that they are tightly shoaled as you would expect. We fished 15,16 & 17 and struggled, apart from peg 17 who had 3 carp for 21lb... The lad who won the Sunday match fished peg 12 yesterday and had Carp in front him and did ok, but some lads on the early pegs again struggled.
I think the best option is to keep an open mind on the pegs to leave out until you see the place as the map is not very accurate in terms of layout.

hi Paul,(Maf1)just in case you missed it (on the early willitofts thread) this match is a Silvers match so to speak, with any Carp over 1lb to only count as 1 lb,Spoke to Michael last week I think the only matches where Carp had figured was the 61lb match winner, and it appears last Sundays, also spoke to a chap who was pleasure fishing peg 17 he said the matches were being won by nets of Ide.he had won one and finished second in another.
I agree we will have to decide on the day because as you say the map is a bit out of proportion, but as wagandmag says a bit of fun and it takes the pressure of the captains who will have to decide on the day,(no pressure lads)

The match on Sunday was won with carp off 18, second, peg 16 had two carp and some bits, third was peg 15 with all Ide for 14lb, forth was 13lb odd, all ide. Other weights I know of was peg 26 with 9lb all ide, and peg 2 had a decent catch but didn`t see what he weighed, hence on a all silvers match 2 could compete with 16 ect. as per list
ps. had a look at the new lake and it was very coloured, so the fish must be moving about in there !!!!!
