As organiser Ian had the opportunity to ask for the peg fees to be paid up front which he has done so as far as I can see he is not out of pocket.

Easily time start thats easy to suit the organiser but advertise it and stick to it, ok motorway hold ups might have an effect, time finish 5 hours maximun at Rolfs add 5 to the advertised start time, weighing in you can bet that Larry took that into account, but I am pretty sure that it would not take much to ask for some one to be weighed in first, it does not matter much where the weigh in starts or finishes.

brain ian phoned to book the lake and was told because it was so popular he would have to send the peg fee straight away so that we would guaranty the lake. so he paid for it before people put there names down. so he didn't ask for the money up front so he has risked £200 not many would do that would they.so what he say's goes. well done herbie

I've never organised a match myself but can see how much hard work the guys that do put into it and if they make a decision then thats up to them... I can understand that people have to make arrangments but surely with 6 weeks to go before the match if changes have been made there's plenty of time to sort things it aint like its the day before the match and things have changed and like you said people can be weighed first if its a problem.... Like's Ian's said himself he as to travel the furthest and needs to be there first and leave last so surely we should go with what he wants and not slag the bloke off

Just to point out if you care read the first post on this thread that the words are " I have provisionally booked the lake " that post was dated 6th January 2008 and by the 7th January 2008 the match was fully booked, with a request to pay peg fees as soon as possible, fair play to Ian he got of his bum and done something, no one twisted his arm it was his decision to run a match

Gents can we stop the bickering one of the reasons i like this site is because even though we may have different opinions all parties conduct themselves in a respectfull manor. Has far as matches go whoever organises them as the final say. I to have organised matches for leagues and it is a thankless task but i have found that if you state the rules times etc and stick to it, it leads to less arguments.

So let ian get on with it and have a great day out.
