There was a guy on peg 24 today, we spoke to, as we bid him goodbye, he said "I'll give you one more tip, if you're on pegs 24 round to about 19 put a brolly up for protection from golf balls".
There are no warning signs to ths effect, a couple of the pegs do have small sections of netting behind them, so be careful, the standard of golf is probably not very high

PS. I'd take a trolley, you can always leave it in the car if not required.

Mark c. When i was there this morning, One lad was fishing on the first sort of feature you come to as you travel round to the right, I thought it was peg number 12, or close to that number. Too this chaps right was a patch of pads, which he was fishing the edge of. I tried to get some info of this chap, but as soon as i started asking questions, he stopped fishing and started talking to me. I can only presume he is fishing with us in our match and did not want to divulge to much

He was on peg 12 and he did stop fishing when Roysty & I spoke to him, but I don't think it was to hide anything, just being polite, he even showed us the rig when I was asking about depths etc.
He'd never heard of TA & said it was the first time he'd fished Barston & only because the local venue he was going to fish was down a farm track that was impassable due to mud with all the rain we'd had.

Weldec. no we didn't fish, from the little info we did get I think maggot will be no1 bait, chopped worm is also recommended & I'll also have some corn & meat to hand. Pellet is also popular, but won't be my choice. Biggest dilemma will be elastic choice, if you need to fish close to the pads for bites & keep the carp out of them whilst not bumping silvers.

Well it looks like its going to be a bit windy with gusts up to 30mph , with some rain, only saving grace is the wind is from the south. Temperatures forecasted to be 8c feeling like 2c not quite thermals weather but not far of it. Still I suppose we could be breaking the ice and the forecast might yet change.

Hi Brian we dont want them gusts.

In your first post re; starting times 10.30 - 3.30, if the weather is not good on the glorious tenth and fishing ceases at 3.30 is this going to be rather dark for the weigh in, just a thought mate.
