    Default firefox

Hello any web browser will start to play up if the web browser cache is full go to control panel then internet options delete cookies and temporary internet files and clear your browsing history I think you will find that fireox will then run smoothly you may have to do this frequently just make sure you have a list of your current passwords written down some where I have firefox and a programme called tune up facilities running in the background with no problems regards Stewart

Sound like your virtual memory is incorrectly set up,

    Firstly an explanation of VM

VM is used as a kind of RAM, Random access memory, Its windows way of increasing speed albeit not a good alternative but if ram isnt available then its important its set correctly, every time you load a page you have been to before or you re open a project you have been working on windows pulls that page from memory as its much quicker than starting from scratch, when your RAM i over stretched windows then calls on your VM to load your work, this is a section of your hard drive its sometimes called a swap file, this increases speed of loading. if your swap file or VM is full then your machine will start to slow down.

Finding the settings isnt easy as they are well hidden but you an get there from here

    control panel / system / advanced / performance/ settings/ then advanced

you will then see it at the bottom, click on the chage button, now I personally dont like windows to manage my memory size as it can get a little out of control ad the last thing you want is a huge page file thats fragmented. what I would suggest is no minimum size and max it out at around one third of your hard drive size this will help immensly with page faults as it will free up your physical memory RAM, dont forget to hit save / apply after you changed settings

Also what Judge says above will help but has its downfalls deleteing all cookies and cache will lose you most if not all of your passwords and you will have to re enter them for each and every site where passwords are needed, its certainly wise to clean it now and then

    Hope that helps Neil
