Yep - The Collingham stretch, from Collingham Weir through to Besthorpe is thought by many to now be THE premier barbel water in the UK. Try fishing it off the sand bank in the weirfield, feeder full of crushed pellets and a halibut pellet on the hook (hair rigged on a short tail) Fish short of halfway, just on the crease and you will pick up double figure barbel, double figure bream, good chub and the occasional double carp. Lots of crushed pellet required. Enjoy
Oh and by the way - pop in to see me at Besthorpe I have the Lord Nelson Pub

Question Fishing the trent at Besthorpe

Hi Wheresmefloatgon,

I'm fishing the Trent on Saturday 6th October '07 @ Besthorpe in a club match, can you advise on how it's fishing and what methods to use at this time of year. Is last years advice sound for Saturday.

Cheers,

Blenky
