Default naseby res gettin rid of fish

hi all do any of you fish at naseby res. if you do do you know they are taking out carp pike and the silver fish and then putting in lime to KILL the catfish all because they are scared the catfish will get into the canal.
they have lived in there for over 30 years and i dont think that now they are just going to go into the canal.
can anybody tell me who to get hold of to try and stop this
thx

Where did you hear this? I have fished Naseby a bit in the week and have heard or seen nothing? There has been rumours about the catfish for years and if they were going to kill them i would doubt very much they were going to do it with Lime that is for sure.

I doubt very much that lime will kill fish as its a standard treatment to correct the ph value of the water, obviously if it were overdosed it could but then it would kill other species as well.

Well i dont think its got anything to do with Cat fish what so ever then. Sounds like they are going to give up on Naseby or just use it as a stock pond. Hence draining and liming. I think the problem is Naseby is a big water but 75% of the bank space cant be fished. Also you hardly every see another angler on the place, although personally thats one of the reasons i go there!

As Naseby is controlled by British Waterways an Email to them might yeild some information, but did they not want to turn it into a specimen type water a few years back and take the big carp from Drayton untill they were found to have a disease?
I know that Nigel had fish from Naseby for Bartston
