like everywhere struggling at the moment.
this time of year the method feeder is the best method, as the water warms up bagging wag comes into its own.
you can catch on the pole, need to find the level bottom past the rocks that slope into the water.
ple rigs need to be heavey rigs there is a real undertow that makes presentaion difficult.

best groundbait i have found there is 50/50 ringers and green swimstim.
hookbaits for the feeder hair rigged 6mm punched meat, dead red maggots , ringers shellfish mini boilies and hallibut pellets.

on the pole loose feed pellets fish 6mm expanders or dead reds.
the fish in here do go to double figures, but average around the 4 - 6lb mark
try to keep them up in the water when playing the as they know where the rocks are.

will fish ok if the weather improves, can take upto 2 hours for them to move onto ya bait
(problems with fishing a big water) but if they move on it can be one a bung.

hope this helps mate. and good look let me know how you get on

First thing to do is get the praying mat out, praying for high draw.Longer the walk the better. The better producing pegs are at the end of new step constructins that have been put down.I think from peg 88 onwards are natural bank.
Our matches have all been won from high pegs, and usually with paste.Swimstim with Sensas Gold is a good combination made up a bit sloppy for hook bait.Every 1/2 hr or so throw in same as groudbait once fish are there and feed 4mm Halibut pellets regularly.
If you don,t have any its worth investing in Maver Black Ice pole floats, these are purpose made for this water.

I think that the method will be the best approach as the match on Sunday 20th is running line no poles allowed ( I think Croats are allowed) So i think the method will be the way to go until the weather warms up

Thanks for taking the time to reply, i will post the result when i return

We fish the venue in May each year and have pegs 1 to 10 which allways produce well fishing method, floaters and bagging wagg.

Last year in April some of our lads emptied it fishing a small cage feeder and packing it with pellet mixed with a little crumb, hair rigged 6 and 8mm pellet on the hook. Those fishing the method had odd fish while those on the cage were getting 2 to 3 fish to those on the method.

Where to start, awoke on Saturday with high expectations of a decent days fishing, although having never fished Boddington.
Arrived at the reservoir for the draw and drew 62 which i was informed was not in a bad area, how wrong can some people be, i made my way to my peg in a cold strong easterly wind that actually was blowing the yachts over.
Set up in plenty of time had a bit of banter with anglers either side and at 11'0 clock threw my method feeder out into the chilly water, and sat and waited, i repeated this over the next 5 hours and when the all out came pulled both my nets out and tried to dry them in the still chilly easterly wind, packed my gear and trudged off back to my car. The net result of 5 hours sat in the wind and cold was not a single bite, although i was not the only one i think out of 60 anglers, some of whom waited till the end some 25 to 30 walked away with the feeling of what went wrong. In short it fished absolutely terriblly.
Anyway on i went into the Rodmasters on Sunday and i drew peg 91 which i was again told was the area to be. Same as the previous day set up, banter etc. When the all in was sounded i cast the reliable method feeder as far as the still chilly and strong easterly wind and lo and behold had my first bite on this normally prolific venue after 5 hours and 40 minutes fishind and after a very carefull and thought provoking fight landed a TENCH from a prolific CARP water, nonetheless i took heart and recast and recast and recast etc, for the remainder of the match and finished a rather productive day with 2lbs 4oz, once again i was cold and rather p~~~~d off but thats fishing.
Down there in July for another go at qualifying.
Thanks for reading.

Where to start Steve,

I have to say i would be gutted too.

I have fished all winter in open matches and learnt alot about winter fishing, one thing i have noticed is that if is blowing easterly and cold you its a case of sit and wait and if it's carp you may aswell go home.

I know its April but its only just started to warm up towards the end of last week.

Good luck on your next visit mate
