Couple of years on and off, only won one but had a few frames. Depends on if I can fit them in with club matches and other commitments, but Sunday afternoons is ideal as I only live 5 miles away.
How often do you fish it Shaun?

not fished all of them but I would say 1, 7 to 10 and 21 to 29......you might need to go a bit deeper say 3 to 4 foot while its still cold.. Depends on the day really, there are still a lot of fish out in the middle.

where abouts in tamworth do you live roy? im in fazeley.

have you noticed its slightly "clicky"

the only thing i didnt like was the way they draw. i was first there a couple of times and they have the name written down from the week before.so that was the order you draw.then if lets say the person with there name was on the top of the list missed a couple of matches when they cam back they were still on the top of the list. so drew first.

Wow what a shocker

I drew peg 2 the first time ever having a peg by the island and what a shock.

23 fished

6 DNW
5 caught 1 fish
2 caught a couple
and the winner had 5lb, 3lb of which came with 30 mins to go

I had one carp in the first 15 seconds and nothing else the entire contest dissapointing was not the word used

Our match on the sunday was also a shocker.I drew a decent peg 29 on the point of the island.Second chuck on the method and a 3lb carp. The far bank had a club match on and i was soon sharing that point with not one but another 3 anglers. Some of the casting was all over the place, and i never had another touch.I caught small roach and skimmers on red maggot over g/bait.That then died and i drip fed chopped worm in a kinder cup to keep a few fish coming. Some regulars turned up who i knew from years ago,and got me to fish up in the water,i never had a bite in half hour so went back on the silvers.Unfortunately it cost me at least second place, second beat me by 2oz.Not to worry, the winner had 10lb[two carp and 2 chub?]Second had 8lb 11oz,i had 8lb 9oz.4th one carp 5lb,and their were another couple who had low weights, and about 6 went dry[including my son on peg 16.I think peg 16 up to 20 all went dry.I had my carp on 2 dead reds, but all the other carp were caught on ledgered cat meat. Not a day to remember but talking to some regulars it seems that most venues had fished crap on the saturday,so it wasnt only the riddings.Smudger what club were you with?because someone told me that an angler i know was on your match,i think he had 2lb+ and wasnt very happy.
cornerstone.
