Default sliding hook loop method

can any one explain how to set up for sliding hook loop. would like to try it out.

i dont know if your on about the same thing but if its the method giles cochrane invented then a demonstration is on the map website i think it is mapfishing.com or .co.uk but is simple all you do is make your rig normally but when you tie on your hook you just tie a figure of eight knot
