Default Staffs-Worcs 11-13

Not being a great fan of canals, we have a club contest on the Staffs-Worcs 11-13 in a couple of weeks time, Any info would be gratefully accepted.

I think you are on the sections from Lisle Avenue back to the ring road bridge.

I haven't fished it for a while but it used to be OK.

The section above the lock is the worst of the two sections, apart from the peg above the lock on the sand stone they are all squatt pegs with not a great deal of bonus fish.

Below the lock there have always been more chub and more bigger roach.

You used to catch chub tight over against any cover on chopped worm and caster and roach and dace down the track on big white maggot.

If they are a few boats then it can be worth putting a hemp line in across.

All pegs should respond to squatt both up and down the far shelf.
