Default Barston Lakes

Anyone know how Barston is fishing and what is winning there at the moment?

I am off to the Fisho there on Wednesday.

Read elswhere that the carp are spawning, still a good few silvers to go at though, with maggot a better bait than the pellet.

If the carp are iffy then it is possible, the intersite individual a 60 pegger was won on the waggler with a net of skimmers in excess of 40lb, Neil Machin was 2nd in a match with 50lb+ predominantly silvers, but my guess is that the carp will show somewhere, according to Nigel they were starting to spawn last Wedneday so might be ready for a munch , and the silvers were at it the weekend.
By the way there is one section of 10 pegs on the match lake but for me it would have to be method feeder, as its a match that has to be attacked winning a section gets you nowhere

Saw on another site that nigel had said the carp had finished spawning, however he had to put a section on the match lake, this means nothing to me has i've never been there before. So that could be good or bad news?

With 120 pegs on the big lake there will be a fair amount of pressure on it, the match lake has 24 pegs so that will be less pressurised with only 10 anglers on it, and could be a bit of an unknown after being restocked following last years problems. a target weight of 80lb would be in most anglers minds, but if those carp dont respond then that could drop significantly and the match lake be in with a shout,
Weather conditions could also play a big part with no wind the big lake will be flat calm and that is when its not at its best. Be aware that if there is a blow on the big lake can tow a bit.
But to answer the question good or bad I think the winner will find a few carp and come off the big lake probably fishing the method feeder.

think you have it spot on brian, will be a all out method feeder jobbie for me on wed, if you draw the far corner you can turn round and go home!
