any one fished the new pool recently, how big are the fish now,are you still having to fish up to the island,how close in can you catch.what bait are they catching on.

I personally didnt see any 'beasties' on Sat - predominantly fish to 1lb, although one of our members did have a couple of 3lbers.

Pellet won our match with 34lb - again predominantly 'small' fish - dont think he had anything above a lb

Most of mine came off the 8 mtr line with a few little tincas inside - heard a few say they caught well on a closer 4 mtr line

I fish on peg 9 2 weeks ago and weighed in 26lb. was have skimmers and F1 on pellet and corn at about5-7 mitres but kept feeding the margins with casters and left it till last 11/2 and had a fish a chuck on worm tipped with caster.Most of these were carp 1-2 lb
Peg 2 won our match with 40lb (peg 1 was not put in.

I fished the same match as TK.

Had all my fish except one, on a power top two fished left and right of me in the edge, 80% on maggot, rest on pellet. 8 solid elastic, those small tench go a bit for their size. A match top two would have been better, but it gives you an idea how close in I was. Decent depth close in.
