Default Bristol City docks and Feeder canal

I am going to fish the docks over the weekend and would like as much info as possible as I have never fished it before. The only info I have is to concentrate around Avon Street. Any advice (contradictory or otherwise!) would be much appreciated especially regarding bait, depths and what to expect to catch etc.

well forget avon st.if you can,get yourself down baltic wharf.this is by the cottage pub.im fishing for most of the day on thursday.29/05/08.you can fish the feeder or the pole, but be carefull, its nearly 30-45 feet deep in places, and it has a good tow on it.its normally about 12-18 foot deep.so the pole is the prefered weapon of choice.if you need more help, then ring bristol angling centre, and ask for the caster master, dave clutterbuck.

Thanks Creepy. It was from Avon Angling that I got the advice to fish Avon Street! Is it not a nightmare trying to fish Baltic Warf with the sailing boats zooming around the place?
