Nige, you would be hard pushed not to catch on any method here, but John Whincup is framing here all the time and I am quite sure he has been catching up in the water with pellet.
You could try feeder to the island for the bigger stamp 10lb+ or down the edge with meat/paste for the same.
Just make sure you beef your tackle up as I am sure you will need it (its not called beastie for nothing!)
