Just got back from bewdley on sunday. We didn't actually fish in the town and went and fished the Harbour Inn water at Arley. Not many barbel showed although I had the biggest fish of our gang of 4 at 7lb 14oz. Saturday and sunday we fished the next stretch downstream which is controlled by the meadows farm I think, £4 a day and the owner is a really helpful guy and lets you park in one of his paddocks right on the river. He even comes down to see if you're catching and if you're not gives you sound advice on where to look for fish. As you head towards Arley footbridge there's a left hand bend with a lane off to the right, I think it has a sign saying 'Meadows' Two grey wheeley bins just inside the entrance. Drive down this lane right to the house and go through the gate into the left hand paddock and then down to the river. You can either pay at the house or on the river bank, don't forget to shut the gate and don't go into the right paddock as there are horses in it. The advice we were given was look for the faster water and they'll be there and that's what we found. It's mainly halibut pellet although some fish were caught on the maggot feeder out of the main flow. Lots of chub kicking about as well. Upstream boundary is the railway bridge and the downstream boundary is a riverside cottage, maybe 3-400 yards of bank in total. I was told the opposite bank is part of the Trimpley water, we did spot the resa when we took a wrong turning trying to find this stretch so it may be true.
Good Luck!
