Default Barston Lakes

I'm thinking of going here tomorow pleasure fishing but have never been before, does anyone know if there are matches on, if so would there still be pleasure pegs available?
Any tips on bait and where to fish would be appreciated, also does anyone know the fishery rules?

fishery rules easy there are basically non, barbless hook, no floating baits,no braid. dont think the carpers stick to the last one though. I would suggest that you will find a few pegs even if theres a match on there 120 on the big lake and 24 on the match pool.
On the big lake its method feeder or pole, pegs 10 to 18 have been producing on the method, feed a pole line at 12 metre with pellet fish pellet over the top for the skimmers, or a chop worm and caster line, the skimmers run to the pound plus mark, and you can expect a carp or two plus the odd tench, you can catch on the pellet at around 6/8 metres change bait is corn. Caster will produce roach which will come up in the water.
If you want to park behind your peg go on the left hand bank, the pegs opposite the island are ok, same tactics, ask if Nigel is about he will put you right.
Match pool is all pole work and has been stocked with F1s again pellet and corn
