Took my lad on the kids match on little gearies last thursday. He fed down the margins, and out at about 8-9 metres. He then started on his top 2 and caught about 3lb on the maggot at about a foot or so deep. His peg was shallow close in so he struggled to keep it going.the 8 metre line was hopeless,so he fished paste on mostly his lefthand side margin swim.He didnt catch anything of any size but ended up with 17lb+ for second. The winner fished a top 2 and pellet all day as his inside was deeper.Third was close and he fished the feeder or method, using meat.Everyone caught, but after these storms then it will probably slow up again.Incidently i fished the method later on and had about 8 f1 carp,so i struggled.I binded micros around the method and fished meat. You caught 2 fish then they backed off for a while. The water was very shallow at the island,so maybe they were getting spooked, but i can normally keep them going better than that,so i wouldnt only go to fish the method in a match, but it will certainly catch you some fish.Incidently i saw some blokes having a knock up and one was catching on the candle. So you have a few options.Ill be going on there one day this week so ill let you know how this rains affedted it.
