My mate said it has three 20 peg (ish) ponds and is next to Messingham Sands so sounds like the place mate. All i know is that you have to use the fisheries own pellets, its 4-5ft deep, has plenty of small carp, skimmers, crucians and ide, and a few bigger carp and you can catch on the top two and thats about it. So any more advice on baits and set up as in line diameter and laccys and any tips would be great cos i hate fishing blind.
Thanks Danny

the 4 corner pegs on each lake tend to be the best and are often left out of open match's to make it fairer.lot of carp in the margins i'd use 4mm meat cubes at the minute .16-.18 line ,elastics i think are personal choice but i use a 14 solid set tight as you need to get them away from the reeds and on kingfisher branches and roots.some pegs have 2'6" in the edge others 8" but carp usually in them all keep feeding it and having a look ,biggest carp about 8lb.i usually fish a line about 4m with soft pellet deepest area is about 6ft,try all depths fish can be in layers with crucians/f1s on or near the bottom and skimmers above them as shallow as 6".skimmers can be a good size and a better bet than crucians. line dosn't need to be as strong i fish .14/.12 with black hydro.the pellet can be substituted for maggot now, think you need to decide between maggot or pellet and stick at it.i usually fish a long pole line aswell, theres a rope across the middle with a rubber square(i think its rubber)in each peg.fish upto the square 14.5 to 16m again experimenting with depths theres lot of fish shallow with larger bonus carp often caught here.it can be a pain with the missed bites so i usually feed meat and maggot on this line and swap between them waiting for the elastic to be pulled out.osprey tends to be the best of the 3 ponds but not alot beween them, kingfisher has the most features but lots of fish in all ponds/pegs.if the weathers owt like upto your match iim sure you'll have an excellent days fishing, paul the owners a nice bloke and fish's the matchs himself, have a word with him for the latest info but i wouldn't go without a few pints of maggots...tight lines..lance

Great Lance thanks. Now....i wanted to keep it relatively simple because by the sounds there isnt much water to go at, so i dont want to over complicate things by using too many baits. I feel the most confident with the pellet, so i thought to fish this close in (4m) loose feeding pellet at first switching between maggot and soft pellet on the hook feeding accordingly. Then pinging hard pellet over to the far pole line with the view to catch shallow with again maggot on the hook as a change of hookbait and also to try to catch on the deck weather permitting of course(if too windy try my small bomb rod with hard pellet). Then in the margin feed either pellet or meat(as you said) with a pellet slop.
What would you change if anything??
Do you have to use the fisheries hookers??
Thanks again Danny

that sounds good mate dont think you'll go far wrong with what your doing i'd just cup meat in on the far line aswell gives you a further option if there not up in the water.also think bomb rod unnecessary, if its windy theres enough fish close in to keep you busy, only time id use a bomb rod is if im next to an empty corner peg.couple of things i forgot to mention when your fishing four metre line if you start missing a lot of bites on pellet is try a different area, you probably know that already but it can drive you mad with the crucians.also worth cupping meat tight to the next peg staging if its empty.90% sure you have to use the fisheries own hookers,i always do but strangely have never asked . paul sells tubs of hookers but i use the pellets i've pumped 2/4mm omegas. hoping to fish the open there thursday if i can get my chores done,if i do i'll post the results. do you know what pond your on?

As far as i know we are on all three as its a three man team event so one on each pond. Never fished as a team (if you can call 3 a team) so iam looking forward to it. Ive taken a few quid off the two in question this year so i dont feel that much pressure ha. Allthough they might expect me to perform so maybe i might feel a little.
With regards to what you said about missing bites i would prob ease up on the feed as in my experience missing loads of bites often means too many fish in the swim, so i would move a couple of feet away until it settles (i presume this could be what you mean?).
Really appreciate your time Lance and hopefully one day can return the favour as i feel i have fished a fair few venues myself.
Danny
