Default Birkwood Fisheries. Wakefield. West Yorkshire

We have 4 well stocked lakes. The Main Lake is a mixed lake with Carp up to 26lbs and lots of silver fish, it has 27 pegs on 3.5 acres of water, so very well spaced out. The Frog Hall is a small 10 peg lake stocked with Carp up to 25lbs, some big Tench and plenty of Roach & Rudd. Emily's Lake and Oscar's Lake are both "snake" lakes and are stocked heavily with carp, designed to be matched fished but great for the day angler too.
In addition to the lakes we have 3 miles of fishing rights on the River Calder and to date have opened up 25 pegs in a variety of swims. Parking is secure and at the back of very peg (so no walking or worries about the car safety)
New for 2008 is fishing on the Aire&Calder Canal. So far I have cut through some very over-grown banks to create 10 pegs (I hope to complete 15 soon), so we are looking forward to seeing how these fish too. Parking is also very close to the pegs.
The fishery has something for everyone. Lakes, River fishing and Canal fishing.
Closed on Mondays (excpet Bank Holidays) fishing is from dusk to dawn. Day tickets on the lakes ar £6.00, £5.00 on the River and Canal. Open Matches every Saturday currently. Match bookings taken year round.
