Description : With a good mixture of riffles and pools, the Monnow has earned its reputation as one of the best for trout fly fishing, especially for dry fly fishing in May and June, with the spectacular mayfly hatches. The lower Monnow, with its slower and deeper sections, also offers a wide range of coarse species including chub and grayling.

there is a free on the monnow gest belowe the town brighg and there are a good carp pond in monmouth call redhill with a cafe that as hot and cold drinks in a nice worm cabin if you wood like a cage and fish for some think else hope this helps you and tight lines
