try brookvale lake in Erdington. I fished there a few years ago and had about 60-70lb of roach on hemp. They are all around 1lb fish. Nobody fishes it though. I don't know why....maybe because its people walking around.....and that nobody fishes it. But its the best roach venue I have ever fished.

Brookvale has been decimated by cormorants, there are only bream and carp left in there now and any other rogue big fish that may have been there.

Ive heard a rumour Witton Lakes has naturally re stocked itself over a period of time, and a lot of fish have been spotted there, its choked with weed at the moment, so may be worth a try in the winter.

the canal, at the back of Foster shop is fishing well, lots of big roach falling to caster, chopped worm, and hemp

Hi Fojo
Leamington Anglers Association have some of the best silver fish venues, Snitterfield reservoir near stratford and Jubillee pools near ryton to name a couple. Check out their site .
You could try woods farm near shirley or Trittiford mill pool.

fished the Birmingham Fazeley yesterday at Cliveland St, Newtown, and had 12lb+ of pristine roach in 4 hours, all caught on hemp at 5m, and caster at 11.5m, a lovely days fishing, used less than a 1/4 pint of each and the fishing is free, as well as the parking.
