Edgbaston Reservoir, Salford Park, Powells Pool and Blackroot Pool in Sutton Park, when they open, Powells you can catch one a chuck on the big maggot from an ounce to 4oz, and bigger fish on the hemp and caster, Blackroot has always been a good caster venue, I regulary fish the Tame Valley canal, from Gt Barr to Spaghetti Junction, and its throwing up lots of nice roach including fish over a pound to double caster, last friday morning, I did double figures in just under 4 hrs, on the Digbeth Branch Canal near pump island, fishing chopped worm and caster, then packed up and walked 400m onto the Fazeley Canal, fished 4 hours on the afternoon and I had 15lb plus maybe 20lb of quality roach on the hemp at Newtown Row, big fish to 14oz-1lb, caught at 5m, its solid from Snow Hill to where the Digbeth canal joins it at Pump Island. the best bit is by the Salvation Army hostel, watchout for the wino's though

I know loads of good pegs I can put you on for good roach fishing, but its all in urban areas, but worth trying.
