Default white acres

hi everyone i would just like to ask if anyone was on holiday at white acres,on the dates of25october for a week as i have only just got out of hospital having caught ecoli and severe food piosoning in the resteraunt having bangers and mash.i have lost nearly 3 stones in weight and have only just started eating solids, lost a big job i was pricing ,and i have been told i wont be fit for work for at least 2 more weeks,it also looks like im going to miss the fur and feather match do things get any worse?
i have to say that apart from that my stay at white acres was very friendly, and some of the people was always willing to help, the fishing was extremly hard and a lot of anglers said it was the worst they have ever known it,under 40lb winning one day, still thats fishing.
the caravan i stayed at was fantastic, but watch that food.
anyone else feel ill??????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????/

Sorry to hear of your problems, and glad you are over the worst, nothing worse than being bad when you are away from home.

Kev,

Sorry to hear of your illness. I have a van at White Acres and unfortunately you are not an isolated incident from what I have heard. I have to say that since the failed park manager / Director Kevin Lucock from Trecco Bay park in Porthcawl has taken charge of the site at white acres. The whole park has gone downhill as recent park reviews would suggest. As a caravan owner I'm understandably concerned so investigated. Kevin was responsible for large increases in site rent and subsequent demonstrations there. I have read several reviews that mention Kevin in particular for his alleged poor customer relations. I can only assume he is there to cut cost and cut corners and increase revenue at whatever cost to the customer. At the end of the day in your case the manager is ultimately responsible and I wish you good luck, because whenever I have had reason to speak with Mr Lucock regarding my concerns. He shows no signs of wanting to listen let alone act and I have been met with nothing less than complete contempt and arrogance.

White Acres I hope will return to its former glory and if left in the right hands I'm sure it will. I say make Clint in charge of it all and fire this new guy back to where he came from.

I bet this Kevin Lucock is responsible for this fish kill.

Not sure that he is responsible for the dead fish but what i do know is that White Acres is no longer a five start holiday park it was once rated as. Mr Lucock has only been at the helm for 18 months and the site has already dropped to a 4 start. What next? A 3 star crap hole?

Thats terrible, i guess the local health authority will investigate the food poisoning side of things.

I too have noticed the decline of the holiday park in the last year or so.

The fishery side is excellent and well run, and the caravans are clean and tidy, but the parks and clubhouse facilities all seem a bit tired and scruffy.
We have been to a few Parkdean places in recent years including Trecco Bay (once, and only once) and they are generally good family holiday resorts.

Hopfully they sort the place out back to its former glory.

me and my mate were there on the 23rd oct for along weekend, we found everything to be good and had 4 days of good fishing...

only prob we had was the staff in the tackle shop, we popped in on the friday to ask about places to fish n what bait to use and all this chap did was to give us the booklet with the pools in, not good when its your first time there

the fat bloke in the tackle shop is a tit, we go every year and avoid being served by him and unfortunatly his little side kick(who looks like a weasel) is no better and if you ask the form/baits ect they look at you like you just shot their mother. The only food I eat on site is a breakfast and have not had any trouble with that although the fast food place should come with a health warning. I really enjoy the fishing at white acres and the different meathods and lakes which is why I always go back, however you have hit the nail on the head for its downfalls.

the park in recent years has gone downhill , the facilties have become tired and need updating lots of corners are being cut and prices being increased thus the customer is suffering as in your case kev. i dont tend to eat on site only food cooked in the caravan, had a bad case of the brad pitts after visiting the takeaway a few years back
The fishing was pretty good when we were there in september
