Hi my names Pete and i have decided to return to fishing after quite a few years break.
I still had all my tackle or so i thought, my son's been in it, my landing net is gone and so are my prized michell 300 reels he did leave a 324 but thats broken and beyond repair, my brolly is trashed too, so ive set about replacing everything (behind the wife's back of course he he).
its been a minefield looking for reels, the market has totaly changed.
so im now waiting for everthing to arrive now i cant wait.
hopefully next sat i will be into some good fish.
the other thing is i live in Darwen, Lancs, does anyone here know of any good waters to go on fairly local.

cheers...........Pete

Try Angling, Fisheries and Fishing in Lancashire | Canals and Rivers see if there is a place near you on there

Default Newbie

Hi my names Mick im 39 and i live near Lincoln. I have just got back into fishing after a 5 year lay off. I used to be a mad keen pike/zander angler (hence the user name) spending most weeks ends fishing the drains and rivers. but have now gone over to match fishing and the intricacies of fishing the pole and have joined my first club in which im not doing too badly for a pole fishing newbie
i try to fish a couple of times a week but as im also a keen shooter this isnt always easy to do (have to find time to fit the family in to!). Im looking forward to 'chatting' to you guys and hopefully picking up some advice/tips.
Just to add ive got a works match at Saltfleetby on sunday a venue ive never fished before any of you guys fished there?
Atb Mick

Smile new member says hello

hi there , my name is Ken , i am a new member to "talk angling " my interests are - rock music - hence the " plantandpage " user name , and FISHING ,i moved from Sheffield to New York , Lincolnshire , 2 years ago , and am just starting to find my way around some of the local venues .
I like all types of coarse fishing , plus the occasional fly fishing outing , and usually get out fishing a couple of times a week ( wife permitting )
Unfortunately i am suffering a severe case of " poleitis " and really love pole fishing , even when i know it may not be the most effective method on the day ?
I still fish the occasional match with mates from Sheffield , at venues such as Wetlands , Makins , Lodge farm , etc. but due to the cost of travelling will have to cut back on these matches next year !
I now also fish with a good set of lads from Boston , who call themselves " Liams Elite " and we have more " local " matches , - we have a match coming up at Moon lakes - Moat lake - on oct. 12th . and while i have fished some of the lakes at " moon " , have not fished that particular one , so if anybody can offer any advice , it will be gratefully recieved .
Thats enough for the time being , i look forwards to hearing from you , and if i can be any help with info . about any Sheffield / South yorks. venues , i will try my best to help - all the best - plantandpage
