I went to the End of the Road Quo Tour back in the eighties, strange that I have been to several since, still a great audience participation act even if the programme seems to get that bit shorter. Old Git aint I

Default Advice on a rod exchange please

hi all, have recently got a good deal on a virtually brand new century tip tornado mach rod, now a pro fisherman friend of mine wants to do a deal to exchange it for a century compressor vectra, he says the vectra is a better all round rod which would suit the fishing i do any advice please.

Question just to say hello

This is my first posting on this forum so hello to every one.
I have recently started fishing again after a few years away from it.
I have fished on and off for the past 45 years or so and still regard myself as a novice, nevertheless I enjoy it.
It looks like this time around I will be fishing the commercial fisheries and have joined this forum to learn all I can from you all to help this new approach.

Not a good idea to keep them in a fridge and if you also keep maggots in the fridge lethal to them because of the ammonia given off by the maggots. I keep them on the concrete floor of a shed (your garage?) with some damp newspaper and they seem to last for ages in the cool shade.Dendrobenas keep in the same location in the peat/bag you buy them in.

Many apologies for not recognising the welcome to this forum from "Polepot" and "jagman".
One of the reasons for not replying sooner is that I have been busy in my garage re-tying/re-tie'ing, (any help on the correct spelling would be appreciated) pole rigs, wrong float to wrong line, to wrong hooks and wrong length, I am getting there.
I live in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire, my resumption of angling has taken me down the M42/A5 to "The Riddings" fishery and so far it has been very enjoyable.
