A bit like these.... I prefer to use the spade end method which I adapted after stuggling to get hold of any eyed hooks that I liked. If you play around with the size of the loops you can get it to work correctly.

the eyed hook method will beat any spade end method anytime dont no how you see the bites on a double loop the object of this method is shy biting fish.i was told once at curbrough i would not win fishing it .SUPPOSE HE WAS RITE i won it with 47lb of silvers pmsl 15lb was 2nd

i have used this and it does work......however...........i am of the opinion it is the close proximatey of the shot and their movement on the sucking in of the bait coupled with being dead depth that are key. as everyone knows it is the movement of the last shot which registers on the float and indicates a bite. try putting the two droppers 2 feet up the line and see what happens...the fish especially f1's and crucians can take it in and not show any indication. i have experimented for two years and as long as you get the depth and shotting right the loop becomes inconsequential. as been mentioned before never be afraid to use lead close to your hook.

Very good article, well if that doesnt clear the issue up nothing will

Giles just out of interest have you tried this on the feeder ?

I know from the article I just read, this is primarily for the pole at exact depth but I cant help thinking this would work on the feeder with a longer loop and is exactly how some carp anglers are presenting their boilies and have done for some time.

I can see the fish and not necessarily F1's picking up the bait and feeling no resistance what so ever and moving off to the next titbit giving you a very positive indication

just a thought

JC

From what I have read JC I don't think this rig is made for the feeder, but someone may prove me wrong, apparently the hook has to have free movement and wouldn't lying on the bottom of a lake attached to a feeder, anythings worth a try though if it improves the rate of catch

jc i have tryed this on a feeder but only as a pop up if you know what i mean, i used floating corn.
and it does work mate
but as jeff said i think it needs free movement and wouldn't lying on the bottom of a lake.
