Red face Hello All, <*)///)><

I stumbled across this site when I was looking for reviews about a Maver pole especially the 201 which I saw on ebay. So by way of introduction and to say hello, I thought I'd give you some insight to the fishy tale that landed me here.

My reason for searching for a pole is that my number 5 section snapped on my Medusa when I connected to a decent fish. The section was perfectly broken as if it had been surgically disected, in fact it just went bink, and was towed off with a fairly decent sized carp to the other side of the lake.

The pole was being dragged accross the lake with a good 4ft of pole still out of the water, much to the amusement of other anglers on the bank. It finally come to rest at the corner of the lake. "Jump in" went the cry from the entertained observers. The carp then got spooked by some kids who ran around to see the comotion of a fish towing the periscope along. The spooked sub then turned and bolted to the centre of the lake when the sinking feeling in my stomach reached a new low as the pole finally sank to oblivion never to be seen again.

Can I get replacements? - not a chance, too old!!!

Does anybody have a Maver Medusa they dont bother with now? I'm at least short of a no5 (broken), no4 (attached to no5) and the top 3 conected to the fish.

Looking back, tho it wasnt at the time, it was quite comical to witness.

Does anybody else have any similar fishy tales to tell?

Well I hope you like my first fish tale on this site and I hope to chat with many of you in the not too distant future.

Kind regards

Mano
