Default Hello to all and PLEASE help!

Hi All,

I am a novie to fishing, having just started a literally a couple of weeks ago, the noly other expeerience I have is what I learnt from my dad years and years ago.

I live in Lincolnshire, and most of my fishing will be for leisure on local rivers and canals such as the Fossdyke, Witham and Trent, with maybe the odd trip to a commerical for carp.

The help I need is regarding Poles. Rather than spalsh out intially, I brought a very very cheap pole to see if fishing was for me, and Ive enjoyed it! Howver not the pole. As a novie, I can tell its rubbish, and wouldnt expect anything less for £25 (shock), its heavy, bendy, unresponsive.

Now, I have decided to carry on fisihng, I am looking at investing in a pole at around the £100 mark. Has anyone got any advice? From what I have read, getting a better qualtiy pole 2nd hand would be the way to go? HDoes anyone know of where to look for these etc? Or better still have one
Or do I look for a new one, and if so any advice, I have seen these?

You help will be truly appreciated.

Thanks

Lee

For fishing on the witham and the fosdyke (Masochist) you will need a light weight stiff pole, it would be best to get a second hand pole of better quality than a new pole of less quality. If you decide to fish the commercials you will need a stronger pole, were in lincs are you.

I used to fish the trent a lot mainly middle trent, then the witham and for a good day i would find out were the bream are and use a feeder rather than the pole. The fossdyke i used to fish know and then and the bait bill was over the top for the return in catch (kilo of worms etc). I mainly match fish and the turn outs dwindled away so it is comercials for me know. If you are of during the week any time and i'm off shift let me know and i will show you a few fisheries around sleaford (only 20 minutes away).
