Hi Macky theres not too many fluff flingers on the site, so you might have to wait for a reply or two, but you are going about it in the right way by having a lesson, best of luck with it anyway

As Brian as said you are doing the right thing get someone who knows to help you. You've not said what type of places you will be fishing (small streams or lakes). When you have been shown the basics get in the park or an open piece of ground and practice.
Make sure the tackle you buy matches up ( i e rod and line ratings).

Hi macky im one of the afore mentioned fluff flingers, lessons are a great start make sure you get a rod and reel light enough to practise with all day a lot of people go too heavy then give it up after a while because they are knackered, a great way to practise accuracy is to tie some red wool to the end of your fly line with a wee knot in it then practise hitting beer cans its great fun(especially if you drink the beer first) good luck hope you pick it up.

Bluebottles feed better in the summer. Try chicken heads as bait
