Default Hi to all...sorry its long!

Hi all,

I've been out of the match fishing scene for the past year or so. I used to be a keen match angler, up until about a year ago i was fishing opens/matches at every given opportunity. I live in the Midlands, so Packington, Earlswood, Tunnel Barn Farm, Blythe, Meadowlands, Makins, to list a few are all my locals.

I'm the kind of match angler who puts lots of effort in, and not just on the bank. I'm a typical 21yr old, in my 3rd year of my degree - 2yrs to go, i've always struggled to find the time to prepare for a days match fishing. There is always something else...mountain biking, uni work, going into the office, out getting drunk, the GF...etc. This all explains why i've completely lost interest in match fishing / fishing.

However, i still buy the Angling Times and browse the net reading the match results, and a few articles, and with the summer almost here, i'm thinking about getting back into it and selling my mountain bike.

Anyhow, sorry its a long 'introduction'.

James

Welcome back to your sport!

I think alot of us went through that same stage as you.

Just remember angling is for life not just for Christmas!

Welcome back

I know the feeling its been best part of 8 years for me and finally I give in to my passion.

In my time out I purchased nearly every copy of the times and the mail trying to keep up to date with the sport.

funny how things change looking from the outside in

Thanks for the replies.

Yeh i know what you mean...I've always said I will never give up/pack in fishing having seen my dads Angling Club slowly loose members over the years.
But yet i still gave up.

Surprising how so much, yet so little has changed over the past 18months or so.
