Default Close to starting again!

Hi all,

Thought I'd just introduce myself to the site. Haven't been fishing for almost 3 years now, it might be more. Quit to have a break and freshen up again and am close to a comeback. Competed on the match scene for a number of years and hung up the rods when I finally got to fish for Daiwa Dorking. Yes, call me mad, the worst mistake I ever made but hey I don't live for my mistakes. Moved to Cambridge now and also a family so the delay has been prolonged but wondered what's happening these days?

Adam

Not actually fishing right now but looking to dust down those rods and get out soon. Not sure the wife will allow me to go back to what life was before when I lived for the weekend and spent the rst of the week thinking about it. Fished a couple of Super Leagues/Nationals on the Cam and the Forty foot but haven't got there yet. Not too sure what there is in the way of commercials around Cambridge. Think I'll be a long way off the match scene at the moment but you never know of a comeback.

Welcome back sipper and welcome to TA

You have one commercial thats superb just North of you in Ely its called High Flier after the race horse that was alledgedly from the same farm, its a 32 peg lake opens are wednesdays saturdays and sundays, right now you need in excess of 300lb to win and the backing weights are superb,

To leave Dorking must have been a hard decision, I left fishing 9 years back and started again last month things have changed a lot with methods and bait but the fundementals remain the same.

poles are better the days of struggling with a 14.5 metre pole are long gone and most can be fished at 16 with ease

I found that all the old rigs still work its just the bait is now mostly from the supermarket and Liddel is now my best freind

Im from North London we have probs passed along the way, maybe at willow or gold where I used to spend a lot of time.

May well have crossed paths/lines! I fished for Dorking for about 2 1/2 years so you might have fished Willow and Gold a bit before my time. Had some good times there though, especially the silver fish leagues. The travelling was hard at times though as I had to travel from Bristol to London most weekends, and that is where most of my money went. Learnt a hell of a lot though and wasn't doing too bad before I gave up. Spent my life getting into a team like that and gave it up so easily, bizarre. I think it was more of a financial decision in the end. Fell out of love with the sport for a bit but have been hinting to the wife that I'll be getting out those rods soon!
