After a spell of about 15 yrs for various reasons of not fishing, I decided to get back on the banks of some of the waters round my way again. The bug has certainly bitten, after a week now, I am trying think of way s of getting out of work to go fishing again, lol.

Also I am thinking that I want bigger fish, I have had a 3.5 lb bream, a few small common and mirror carp from 0.5 - 2 lb, a couple of tench biggest about 2 lb.

I have been told there is bigger to be had and even tho I just wanted the simple life, just sat in the sun watching a float with a few maggots, I am now thinking, well if i rig up a hair rig, still have a float on it and leave it, use another rod to catch the smaller stuff to keep me amused thro the day while I wait for the bigger fish to bite.


This fishing lark is contagious, it can really get you hooked, pardon the pun.

p.s. yes my arms are very very sore, we had a gorgeous but windy weekend up here in south cumbria.
