  • Another Pellet Question

Apologies if this is in another thread but i couldnt find it.

When fishing shallow with pellet and spaying over the top. What is the best hooking method for a match scenario ie speed and not having to keep changing bait?

Is it best to use a small band on a 18 hook or just use a hookable 4mm-6mm?

Personally I use a small band on a hair to a size 18 hook. Bait is normally a 6 or 8mm pellet feeding 4 or 6s.

Yes, it's got to be a hard pellet in a hair rigged band, I use a size 20 Fox hook that is like a standard 16 and always use the same size pellet as I'm feeding. As for changing bait, I don't see the problem, it only takes seconds and a fresh pellet is better anyway. You can varnish and put a groove in the pellets to make them stay on longer but I can't see the point.

Yes they are good for all but 4mm pellets, you need the small Fox ones or Mossella micro bands for these.
