    so Ive just brought a reel for feeder fishing?
    just wondered if its best to use backing line or not they are both deep spools hold 220 yards of 10lb line i proberly use 6 - 8 lb max?? can you tell me do you use backing line or not if you do what do you use old line or something else?? can you help thanks Dave

    i just use a bulk spool of 6lb and load it to where i want the last 100 yards ...used to use electricians tape to back them with

      If you've the patience load your new line on. Then your old line for backing purposes until you are close tothe level you want on the spool. Then transfer onto the other spool. (You suggest the spools are identical)
