i've just been told theres some good chub in my local canal. can anyone sugest some good methods for canal chub? cheers.

Good old big maggot is normally a winner for Mr Chub! Just loose feed with a catty - they will normally be sitting on a feature like a big tree or near to a lock! Let us know how you get on!

Although its favored on rivers - I have tried Halibut Pellet on my local cut with success, when other baits have failed. Cup in 3mm pellets and fish a 6mm banded pellet on the hook.
If you feel unsure about - fish the far bank area away from your normal lines, that way if it doesn't work you have not spoiled your peg!
