Something I want to try a bit more on this season, I have brought some VDE ready made in tub and also some Ringers to mix up. Also read plenty regarding Green Swimstim g/bait mixed to a paste

Just wandering if people on here make there own paste up or buy ready made and any guidance/tips on using it.

as a rule of thumb as soft as you can get away with, without it falling of the hook when shipping out.

            an excellent cheap summer bait.

            4ozs fishmeal
            6ozs semolina
            6ozs soya flour
1 large tin pilchards in tomato sauce.
            30 mil salmon oil
            4 large eggs.

blend the pilchards before adding to mix.

I use 50% salmon fry crumb and 50% halibut pellet powder and add a handfull of predigested fishmeal. Also I sprinkle a bit of MSG in the mix.
I mix about 4-5lb at a time and bag it and freeze it

Leigh - Get out there and try a few different mixes, there is nothing better than catching on a Paste you have made yourself - and nobody else has !
Here are a few I have tried and all have worked on different waters.

Green Swim Stim with the following added at various times:-
Scopex, mollasses, Garam Masala, Dynamite Baits Meaty GB in a tin.

Luncheon meat with Sensas Gold GB

Lots of the Carp mixes from Hinders.

                Good Luck

                  Another simple recipe is

                  Sausage meat,
                  Curry powder,
                  fish meal,
                  couple of beef oxo cubes.

Great for carp, tench and barbel
