    without exception all of my 45 small roach caught on stick were hooked in the middle of the botom lip does this indicate anything as i understand top lip hooking to represent better presentation ??

      Normally when fishing overdepth in flow,try shallowing up by 1 inch at a time till it's in top lip.

        Fordy is 100% correct the float is set over depth, causing the bait to drag bottom hence bottom lip hooked fish.

          did a few diagrams and realised i must have been overdepth as the fish are intercepting it facing the spade while the other way facing the bend should get me top lippers
