  • Scothorne misses out

Alan Scothorne has failed to make the team for todays world championships in Portugal after struggling during practice over the last week.
I'm sure everyone from Talk Angling wishes England and all the home nations the best of luck, do the biz lads.

Brave call to leave him out but even the best suffer lapses in form, only time will tell if it was a genuine loss of form or bad luck in the draw bag and if is the right decision. On the flip side look at the opportunity it gives for the likes of Sean Ashby to make an impact on the England team.

Good luck to England and I'm sure Alan will play his part in the team result one way or another.

        Goodluck England

Even The Best At There Game Suffer A Lack Of Form Now And Again And Its Good To See The Two Marks Making The Decision To Drop Alan If He Is Not Performing .the Best Team At The Time Must Be Selected On Form And Hopefully England Can Come Away With Another Gold. Good Luck Lads.

Been listening to Keith Arthur, Brian?
Will came back with 3 points, Stu with 4 and Alan with 9, hardly mid-section in sections of 32!
Steve scored 28, take that away from the 45 England scored on Day Two and you can see that 17 that the other four scored was another storming performance.
Tamas Walter was really on top of the venue and looked the star performer that he is. But it was very easy to slip up, as Steve found by losing three mullet, when any one would have pushed him 15 places up the section.
Ivan Biordi is a nice young lad, 25 years old and with quite a future ahead of him. He started to panic a little on Day Two, but loved the attention he was getting from me and my camera.
Watch out for Serbia in future years, they are catching up fast and leaving our other home nations behind.
