Hi, if and when i start fishing again I want to see just how good i am by trying match fishing and cos as a pleasure angler I know and have been told that I am more than good enough to hold my own and thats from match men too.

What i want to know is how many top kits do you need ie do you need a kit for each elastic size as of now i have 5 top kits sizes 2,3,8,10 and 12 is that enough, what more would i need? if any, or would you change the size of elastic

    Alan

It depends where ur going, wot size the fish are and if your proper fishing or carp puddles only.At the moment i go to Manor farm and 5 or 6 of my top kits have the same elastic in, as 90% of the fish are1 and half to 2 and half pound, The best thing to do to start with is just stick to venues where you feel confident. If you only have 1 top kit with a certain size of elastic in means that if ur bagging and you trash the rig u spend 5 mins, retackling, but if u have a couple of duplicates ready u don't waste anytime and 5 mins can be crucial.Ideally when you get into it a lot more,u would end up with 4 or 5 top fives,10 top fours and anything upto 20 top threes, but if you stick to a few similar venues u get away with 4 or 5 tops, but may have to change elastics more freq. but if you use winder bungs etc you will have spare to use up so the same elastic can be put back in several times just store the elastic well.
