I started out fishing canals (too many years ago now) and found it the best apprenticeship I could have in angling. It taught me loads of skills that I have taken forward into other types of fishing. Some of the most important being patientence, how to build a swim, working a bait and being grateful to catch a pair of eyes! I'm sure you will enjoy fishing the cut Matt but please give it a fair crack of the whip has it's a world away from bagging at Moorlands but once you've got your head around it, it can be just as enjoyable if not more so. Best of luck.

dudley no2 canal, this time of year use the punch or b&j although chopped worm/caster will work.
