Its quite difficult to tell how it will fish until the day as the day of my lads match (lincoln juniors ) on last sat the river had colour and was slightly rising. The previous weds had seen weights into the forties and a good spread of back ups but the day wasn't so good for this match based around the hudsons bay pegs 61-70 14lb won it on feeder.A fishmeal /natural mix with red maggot did catch some nice bream using open end/blockend fished well across although some pegs are weedier than others so you may have to come into the deeper water..Float lines mainly fished over baitdroppered hemp produced only odd roach/small chub on the day rather than the hoped for barbel although this stretch can throw some up on the inside so be geared up if fish stick float.

Can't go wrong with caster and hemp for everything that swims in the dyke, although some areas don't hold as many fish as others. One piece of advice though, don't fish too light as there are a lot of barbel in there now. Good luck.
