  • New edge pole advice

Hi lads just in need of some advice and suggestions!

I bought a maver elite 88 pole which is spot on! However I don't really fancy bagging with it in summer down the edges in fear of breaking a section! I'd much rather buy another pole for down the edge and save myself so,e money in the long run hopefully! So I just want to know which poles would you get for margin fishing? It does not have to be a specialist margin pole just a pole that is strong enough to fish down the edge with! The pole needs to be ideally 13m to be able to reach the next platform on the venues I fish!

    Thanks lads all suggestions welcome!

Maver elite carp, garbo do loads of g-max and g-system power poles at different prices. Best just having a waggle of some in your price range and choosing which one suits you,

      Elite carp
Ive had some serious lumps on mine and its never let me down, Ive had to 'drag' carp and barbel out of the reeds and it felt solid even under serious pressure

        Hi Maca pearson

I have the Tri-Cast XRS-2K4 However they have a newer model now. It is rated to 25+ and i have some big lumps out on it. Its not cheap but worth every penny imho.

Hi Steve a lot of people I have spoke to have said the tri cast margin pole! How does it feel at the longer lengths because I'd have to buy the two extensions to make it longer in order to reach the next platform ??

Also morgz I was also looking at the elite carp too I'm just wondering how strong it actually is? Would it cope with strong elasticAted like red hydro?

            Hi

I cannot advise you on the longer length as my Tri-Cast is 9 metres. I believe that the new model is more balanced. There was one for sale on here not some long ago. Its not the weight of a pole you should worry about its the poles down force, as long as it is balanced the weight is not an issue.

I fish mine with 25+ solid and 22+ solid Vespe elastic and the other two top kits have Vespe Orange mega pull 2.85mm hollow.

            Regards Steve

Hi Steve that's what I was asking regarding the balance of the pole but it seems the last comment has put my worries to rest! Haha thanks for the suggestions guys!

A tricast with 4 kits and both extensions sold on here for £450 a couple of days ago. Supposed to be very well balanced and incredibly strong.

                      hi i have tri-cast
xrs the new margin pole its awesome very strong I have the 2 extension to take it to 12m i would say at 12m it gets a little floppy but still holds it strength at 9m its unbeatable hope that helps
