    JAMES MAUDE ANGLING CLUB 1969 - 2020

Saturday 4th July Sherwood Fishery Skellydale (6hrs).

Weather: westerly wind blowing down the lake bringing the occasional showers, temps slightly down.

The Merry Men Of Maudes we’re back in the heart of Sherwood Forest at the aptly named Skellydale, were we welcomed back two of our Lockdown heroes by the names of Lawrence Butcher and Ian Carr.
As the lockdown restrictions are being eased with the government’s recent announcement that the pubs can open with strict guidelines in place, and the same still applied at today’s match at Skellydale with rolling draw procedures still in place to ensure social distancing measures were adhered to, so well done lads on your co operation.
It was great to see our two lockdown lads back with us and the James Maude Ac ex members joining us. So while people were getting ready to venture out for their first real pint of beer in a Pub since lockdown, it was a cause for celebration for some, and none more so than Billy Harrison who’s celebration took on a totally different theme with his first win for a while. Billy fished shallow at 13mtrs as a steady stream of 7/8 lb fish honed in on his 8mm banded pellet, no margin fish took part in the final tally as he kept his shallow line productive with the top ton plus of the day with 148lb-13oz from peg 23. Well done Billy.
Second place went to Terry Wiggins pegged on 39, Terry falling just 10lb short with 139lb - 2oz. Well done Terry. Gary Summerscales pegged on 14 had 120lb for a third placing. Well done Gary. Top Tip man was Brian Cox with 111lb- 9oz from peg 12. For fourth place. Well done Brian.
