    JAMES MAUDE ANGLING CLUB 1969 - 2021

Saturday April 17 Portland Waters Canal Lake

Weather: Slight frost early doors, with bright sunshine for the remainder of the day.

    June 10 1921 - April 9 2021

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was a member of the British royal family as the husband of Elizabeth II. Philip was born into the Greek and Danish royal families. He was born in Greece, but his family was exiled from the country when he was eighteen months old.
After being educated in France, Germany and the United Kingdom, he joined the Royal Navy in 1939, aged 18. From July 1939, he began corresponding with the thirteen-year-old Princess Elizabeth, whom he had first met in 1934. During the Second World War he served with distinction in the Mediterranean and British fleets. R.I.P.

And so as we say farewell the Duke of Edinburgh , we say a big well done to the Duke of Portland Pete Lambert, as he took the crown at today’s very very very tough match, our worst match at Portland Waters Canal Lake ever.

We are blessed in our club with some of the best Mickey takers in the Angling community, and today we were grateful for the bank side banter to keep us going until the final whistle, which could not come quick enough.

A field of 22 anglers in an optimistic mood soon turned to one of pessimism, following several days of early morning frosts, today was a tough day, as back up weights show. Pegged on 12 a favoured area, Pete caught long fishing shallow taking 83lb-14oz. Well done Pete.
12 x 2 will take you to 24 we’re Sean Hanrahan put in a sterling performance with 50lb- 2oz. Well done Sean.
Last weeks winner, slipped into third position as Roger Summerscales bagged 45lb- 5 fishing long on peg 28. Well done Roger.

    Shaun Green 42lb peg 30
    Gary Butcher 36lb-10 peg 19
